Gout, a type of metabolic arthritis, is caused due to the accumulation of uric acid. Every day, thousands and thousands of people are looking for gout remedies in order to get relief from this sorest type of disease. Gout may occur to any age group, and gout symptoms are generally characterized by sudden pain and swelling in the affected area. Several remedies for gout are available; however, gout home remedies which were used traditionally, are gaining more popularity these days. Few home remedies for gout are as follows:
- Applying ice to the affected area to diminish gout pain.
- Taking Advil to reduce pain.
- Exercising the joints 1 to 2 times each day. This helps to strengthen your muscles around joints.
- Soaking the affected area in Epsom salt to get gout relief.
- Eating grains, seeds, nuts and strawberries that help to neutralize uric acids.
- Drinking cherry juices and consuming cherries often. These are old nutritional remedies that help to give gout relief by reducing the levels of uric acid.
- Drinking a minimum of 12 full glasses of water per day. This will dilute the level of uric acid, and will flush away the toxins.
- Eating more and more leafy greens, citrus fruits, green peppers and tomatoes.
